OUR SHOOTING STAR
Remembering Madison Grace Hall
May 9, 2004—October 2, 2022
So much promise and opportunity awaited you upon your graduation on June 5, 2022.
Huddled in the Arena Gym Balcony, I sat and celebrated with your family on that glorious day.
Optimism and hope permeated the air on that Sunday afternoon—encapsulated with smiles,
hugs, and cheers.
On May 9, 2004, (Mother’s Day) Madison entered this world to proud parents,
Felisha and Lee J, and big brother, Lee Joseph.
Together, over the years, the benevolent Hall family abundantly blessed the
Benton Community . . . racing cars, raising goats, sponsoring 4-H members, and mentoring FFA participants.
Involving yourself in 4-H, FFA, Supermileage, and CAAP, you left your indelible mark;
and, with an insatiable thirst for knowledge and scholarly pursuit, you captained your
academic social studies team to back-to-back State Championships.
Navigating your way through Benton Central’s hallowed halls, your giggles infiltrated
the room, your ear-to-ear smile produced joy, and your infectious laughter
filled our hearts.
Giving your ALL . . . to EVERYTHING you attempted, you illuminated everyone and
everything around you . . . truly, a SHOOTING STAR.
Senseless, avoidable, catastrophic tragedy snatched you, your parents,
and your lovable dog, Lottie, from our midst.
Traveling home from Charleston Speedway on Highway 16 in Illinois on October 2, 2022.
An agonizing aftermath of anger, disbelief, numbness, and gut-wrenching sadness ensued.
Regardless of speculators who may suggest a shooting star burns out, Madie, our beloved . . .
YOU will forever shine.
